PTSD is a mental health condition that can develop after a person experiences or witnesses a traumatic event involving intense fear, helplessness, or horror. Such events may include war, natural disasters, serious accidents, assault, sexual abuse, or sudden loss.
Symptoms of PTSD

- Avoidance: Avoiding places, people, or thoughts that remind the person of the trauma.
- Hyperarousal: Being easily startled, feeling tense or “on edge,” difficulty concentrating, and sleep problems.
- Emotional Numbing: Feeling detached from others, losing interest in activities, or having trouble experiencing positive emotions.
- Negative Thoughts: Persistent negative beliefs about oneself, others, or the world.
