What is Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)?

Home > Blog

PTSD is a mental health condition that can develop after a person experiences or witnesses a traumatic event involving intense fear, helplessness, or horror. Such events may include war, natural disasters, serious accidents, assault, sexual abuse, or sudden loss.

Symptoms of PTSD

  1. Re-experiencing: Flashbacks, nightmares, or intrusive memories of the traumatic event.
  2. Avoidance: Avoiding places, people, or thoughts that remind the person of the trauma.
  3. Hyperarousal: Being easily startled, feeling tense or “on edge,” difficulty concentrating, and sleep problems.
  4. Emotional Numbing: Feeling detached from others, losing interest in activities, or having trouble experiencing positive emotions.
  5. Negative Thoughts: Persistent negative beliefs about oneself, others, or the world.

You cannot control time — but you can choose how deeply you live within it. Every moment is a seed. Plant it wisely.

  • The road ahead may be long, but every step you take reshapes who you are — and that is the real destination.
  • Time is not your enemy; it is your mirror. It shows who you are becoming, not just how long you’ve been trying.

There are two main types of role conflict:

Role Conflict: Navigating Contradictory Expectations

Role conflict occurs when an individual faces incompatible demands attached to different social roles they occupy. Each person plays multiple roles—such as employee, parent, partner, student, friend—and these roles come with specific expectations and responsibilities. When these expectations clash, they create psychological tension and stress.
